Learning Through Art at the MFAH

MFAH Learning Through Art

The Houston Learning Network is proud to partner with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and promote their Learning Through Art curriculum. This extraordinary resource connects the Museum's collections of world art into classroom curriculum for art, language arts, math, science, and social studies. LTA/MFAH bridges disciplines to enable students to explore key concepts in the real-world context of the art museum while teaching literacy and writing skills, math, science, and social studies. These TEKS and STAAR-aligned lessons and engaging videos are an extraordinary resource to elementary and middle school teachers. We highly encourage teachers across our region to access and use these resources. They're free to use and they're a wonderful way to make use of our world-class art museum.

Great Ideas from Houston Teachers

In 2021, we hope to launch the development of the Houston Learning Network Idea Library, a series of great ideas and best practices developed by Houston-area educators and intended for open sharing across our community. Stay tuned for more information about how to get involved with this effort.
