Scott is a graduate of Harvard College and received an MBA from Stanford University. His career began with a thirteen-year stint at Goldman Sachs in New York, primarily in the Energy Group. He then moved to Houston and co-founded investment banking boutique Weisser Johnson and later the investment firm GasRock Capital which together operated for twenty-two years. He spent a period as a CFO of a start-up oil and gas company and then co-founded the investment banking firm Chiron Financial which serves a variety of industries with a focus on growth capital private placements and restructuring. He is married and has two grown daughters. He serves on the boards of the Harvard University Club of Houston and the Houston Learning Network.
